Guy Fawkes Description

I heard crackling noises as I woke up, I ran outside to see my family light the gunpowder filled  inventions. I could smell the bitter smoke and I could hear the blast of the fireworks. I could see the mass if rainbow coloured stars as they dissolved. On the other side of the street bonfires turning night into a fiesta. Animals were fleeing from the plague of explosions startling the stars. A range of lights making everyone excited and happy. I was alarmed from the flying gunpowder flying towards me before they scattered and landed towards the ground. A bright red star rocketed up into the sky greeting the other stars and paused for a moment and slowly made its way to the ground. I was amazed from the flaming red flare as it ended Guy Fawkes Day.

Writing Description - My Holidays

Kelly Tarltons is one of the events that I attend on my holidays.Kelly Tarltons is at Mission Bay across okahu building.We  saw penguin like they’re related with pandas with the same colours black and white .I’ve learned that there are seventeen species of penguins that are left in this world wide.After we came back from the Kelly Tarltons tour we came and went to the park and had a lot of fun at the park.Later on we hiked to the wharf for a little swim and my sister came and picked us up to go home for our dinner .Then we had to go to my uncles wedding.

The Two Boys And The Fruit Adventure

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   There were two boys named Mosi & Sione  and they lived in a precious island called Tonga.These two boys are twins and they both have blue eyes that look the same. Their eyes shine like diamonds.They have  skin that is smooth like the fur of a lion and they both have silky hair.

As they were around the island they took a glance at the beach and saw a seagull fly like a jet across the sea.The land is clean and green.

As they were walking they found a precious seed lying on the ground.As they picked up the seed it felt like slithery lines going side to side.The seed was a mango seed witch was the most expensive fruit to be sold in the market. At this particular market mangos cost five dollars each.

The two boys got newspaper and started to read it and they saw a house on sale for 50 dollars. They started to have a conversation to sell the mangos at the market.So they planed to  plant the seed in the soil to have mango on sale at the market for 5 dollars.

Mosi & Sione were growing it then they forgot to water it everyday but  the plant was starting to die then the clouds were starting to gather together like are herd of Elephants.
After that it was starting to rain and the plant was growing, growing and growing until it had 10 mangoes and the mangoes were as smooth as a mango smoothie.

After that moment they collected all the mangoes that they could get .Later on that day they were in the market selling all the fruit they can & they got enough money to buy their house. When they got to the house and the house was as sparkly like the sun.As they lived at there house as they lived at there new house they never forgot about the mango seed.

Weekend Recount

On the weekend I went to my rugby game at university and we vs papatoetoe demons and we won 31-10.After that we had little treats and they were fizzy drinks ,chocolate, Banana and chips.On sunday morning we went to pick up my sister from the airport and we ate K.F.C and we went to take my aunty to the airport so she can go back to Australia in Brisbane. We were watching are cool movie called Benchwarmers and my favourite part was when he tried to hit the mailbox but then he hit the window of the car and the alarm went on.

What did you like about this term’s unit?

• Using a camera.  
• Having the opportunity to edit a movie. Some of us are now confident to edit a movie and are now going to be helping our teacher edit T.P.S News.

• Working as a group to plan our movies.  
• This unit helped us build stronger relationships with each other especially when we were working as a group to produce and edit our movies.  
• Speeches! - doing and preparing a speech helped developed our presenting skills. 
• We have become confident in sharing our ideas without being shy. 
• Learning about movie making equipment like the tripod, imove programme, flip cam etc.  
• Enjoyed learning about the movie making process - brainstorming, planning, script writing, storyboarding, filming, editing, presenting.

What challenges did you have with this unit? 

• Waiting for our turn to film because there was only one flip-cam and a tripod.  
• We had some groups using the same filming location so we had to wait for them to finish filming and sometimes it ment we couldn't film because they were taking too long. For example the staff room, corridor, reading room etc.
• We couldn’t film sometimes as some students were away and the weather was not too good as well.  
• Memorising our lines for our scripts. 

Interesting

What interested you about this unit?

• The editing process.  
• Adding sound effects and music to our movies.  
• Learning how professional film makers make movies and trying to develop their skills throughout the process of our film making experience.  
• Learning the movie elements helped us to make our movies interesting to watch!

How did you feel about presenting your speech to the class?I felt quit nervous but I was still able to finish it.


What was the hardest part about preparing a speech?I think the hardest part was when I memorizing the words of by heart.

How could you improve your speech making next time?By using eye contact much better and also speak more slowly.

WALT-write a narrative story based on our artwork.


It all began in a country called Samoa.There were 3 boys named Kini,Kraven and Kelly.They all loved to go for a long swim in the beach.It felt like paradise to them because they loved to wear lava lava to dances at Church's  and even at home.Every summer they used to have a large picnic , build sand castle and even go for a swim at the beach.
But one hot breeze summer  they went to the beach and they all were swimming  then they heard are shaking noise.It was as noise as a   truck rubbling pass.


,‘Oh no it are volcanic eruption’ They swam as fast as a lion hunting for meat to the shore.The lava went and spreed all over the sea ,It was starting to reach the shore.All the lava from the volcanoe burnt flowers,animals in the forest and lots of different objects.All the people of Samoa was allover the place panicking.

Suddenly the volcano had stop but after are few minutes later people were calm but the lucky thing is that no one died.They had no house no nothing.Kini had an Idea to use the old wood  to build a house.

I live with my tremendous sisters.I have three sisters and three amazing brothers.I live with my sister,brother and my parents.

I am Tongan and I am very fortunate of my culture . I’m thinking of my culture when they keep me safe .The things that represents our culture are the palm tree,flowers,lava lava,Tongan patterns and Island food.
